The Moshville Times - Converge share new single “We Were Never The Same”, announce festival dates

It’s been a long time coming, but Massachusetts hardcore legends Converge are properly back. The band have just dropped a visualizer for their ferocious new track, “We Were Never The Same”, and it’s an absolute belter.

The single is the closer from their upcoming album, Love Is Not Enough, which is set to land on 13th February via Epitaph and Deathwish. If you’ve been waiting for the lads to unleash that signature chaotic energy, you won’t be disappointed. It looks like the culmination of everything they’ve been working towards over their decades-long career, blending that raw hardcore aggression with something a bit deeper.

The record was produced by guitarist Kurt Ballou at his own God City studios in Salem, so you know the production is going to be top-notch—gritty, heavy, and loud. Vocalist Jacob Bannon, who also handled the artwork, had this to say about the new track:

“I wrote these words in the parking lot of a funeral home while reflecting on loss. Why do we gather to mourn but not to cherish? It’s an honest question that exposes our collective distractions and shortcomings. Grief brings clarity— We all must do better.”

To support the release, the guys are heading over the Atlantic this summer for a run of festival appearances.
