Southern California rockers The Mendenhall Experiment have released their new seven-track EP, Chasing Ghosts. The record is out now via Lucent Records, with distribution handled by Tuff Gong International.
Formed in 2008 by rhythm guitarist Brandon Mendenhall, the band has made a name for itself not just through its heavy, melodic sound, but through the inspiring stories of its members. Mendenhall was born with cerebral palsy, a condition affecting movement and coordination. Despite facing significant physical challenges—including limited mobility on his left side—he taught himself to play guitar at the age of 19, finding a way to rehabilitate his left hand without surgery. He is joined in the band by bassist Nathan Stockton, who has overcome his own disability of childhood deafness.
Produced by Chris Collier (Korn, Prong, Metal Church) and executive produced by the band themselves, Chasing Ghosts is a collection designed to bring together fan favourites and deep cuts. It features tracks from their previous releases, the 2017 self-titled EP and 2022’s Against All Odds, alongside new material. Mendenhall describes the release as a journey through the band’s history: “’Chasing Ghosts’ takes you on the journey that is The Mendenhall Experiment, Past, Present, and even a glimpse into the Future.”
The release comes shortly after the band were honoured at the 6th Annual Danny Awards in New York City on 25th October 2025, receiving an award from Daniel’s Music Foundation for their work in raising disability awareness within the music industry.
