Palindrones craft soundscapes of chaotic beauty with double A-side single

South London-based dark-electro duo Palindrones have just unveiled a new double A-side release, showcasing their signature blend of dreamy industrial synthpop and pounding rhythms. The new release features the tracks “Abraxas” and “The Brightling Star”, accompanied by a brand new music video for the latter.

“Abraxas” is drawn from the band’s third studio album, Chapter Two: The Slender Blade. The track is designed to conjure a sonic space where chaos and harmony are inextricably intertwined. Listeners can expect brutal, distorted breakcore rhythms that crash and convulse beneath a weaving, joyful melody. It represents a duality of the sacred and the profane, capturing the volatile balance between ecstasy and annihilation.

Its brand new companion piece, “The Brightling Star”, continues this thematic exploration of unity and connection but aims to rise from the dark, fiery chaos to bring a sense of resolution and renewal. The music builds gradually, converging in a crescendo of pulsing trance. It serves as an anthem of hope and redemption, suggesting that individuality and unity can coexist in a shared heartbeat.

Formed during the lockdowns of 2020 by Jamie and Karen, Palindrones utilized songwriting as a method to stay connected while living on opposite sides of the capital. Their name speaks to the symmetry and contradiction that fuels their creative process. Having already graced stages at Resistanz, Whitby Goth Weekend, and Alice’s Wicked Tea Party, the duo continue to bring their immersive blend of visuals and sound to audiences across the UK.
