If you feel like your ears haven’t taken enough of a battering lately, you’re in luck. The relentless force that is Kosuke Hashida is gearing up to unleash his latest solo effort, Moment of Silence, on January 30th via the fine folks at Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
The Tokyo-based guitarist is becoming a bit of a machine when it comes to output. Known for his work with World End Man, Hashida has been tearing it up with his solo material recently, and this new record promises to be another slab of absolute savagery. If you’re familiar with his previous work, you’ll know he doesn’t do things by halves. This is grinding, thrashing death metal designed to be played at maximum volume.
Moment of Silence is being billed as a “full-spectrum barrage”, blending the urgency of grindcore with the heavyweight punch of death metal. The label describes it as having “no mercy” and “all fire”, which sounds exactly like the sort of chaos we can get behind. If your record collection is stacked with the likes of Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Lock Up, or Nasum, this is going to be right up your street. It’s fast, it’s nasty, and it doesn’t give you a second to breathe.
You can get a taste of the madness right now by checking out the lead single, “Secularization”, which is streaming online. As usual with Horror Pain Gore Death, they’ve got a decent spread of merch options lined up for the release. You can grab the album on CD or digital download, and there are bundles available including t-shirts and—for those wanting to look the part—a logo trucker hat.
