It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from Northern Ireland’s Indominus, but the wait is nearly over. The Belfast-based death metallers are gearing up to drop their brand new single, “Blacklake”, towards the end of January.
We last featured the lads back in 2016 when they released their debut EP, Legion Within. At the time, we were impressed by their technical proficiency, but the band hasn’t stood still since then. If their recent output is anything to go by, they’ve been steadily shifting gears from their tech-death roots into something far more aggressive and uncompromising.
Since their formation in 2016, Indominus have built a solid reputation on the live circuit, sharing stages with heavyweights like Vader, Marduk, Suffocation, and Samael. While Legion Within established them as a force to be reckoned with, later singles like “War” and “Burn” have seen them inject more melody and “vitriol” into their sound. “Blacklake” promises to continue this evolution, delivering another slab of their signature brutality.
The production on “Blacklake” is superb with every cymbal splash, death roar and bass note crystal clear and hitting hard.
You can check out our review of their debut EP here while you wait for the new track to land early next year. Trust me when I say it’ll be worth the wait!
