Dundee-based metal quintet Catalysis have returned with their latest single, “Tremors”, which was self-released on December 5th, 2025. The track serves as the first glimpse into the band’s next chapter, with a new EP slated for release in 2026.
Blending elements of groove metal, thrash, and metalcore, “Tremors” delivers the crushing riffs and aggressive energy that fans have come to expect, while showcasing the band’s evolved sound. Drawing influence from heavyweights like Chimaira and Machine Head, the single captures the raw intensity that has become a hallmark of their output.
Formed in 2017, Catalysis have steadily built a formidable reputation within the UK metal scene. Their discography includes a run of well-received EPs and two full-length albums: 2020’s Connection Lost and the critically acclaimed Betrayer in 2023. The band has also solidified their standing as a live force, delivering consistently intense performances across the UK and Europe.
The new material marks a significant era for the group, following lineup changes that have revitalised their creative approach. With the addition of vocalist Andrew Downie, bassist Robi Islam, and guitarist Jamie Paterson joining founding members Drew Cochrane (guitar) and Calum Rennie (drums), “Tremors” is a statement of intent from a band firing on all cylinders.
With a new EP on the horizon for 2026 and live dates being booked—including a scheduled appearance at The Factory Live in Worthing next July—Catalysis are gearing up for a busy year ahead. Check out the official music video for “Tremors” below.
