Bound to Prevail unleash title track from debut album ‘Enthroned in Torment’

Maltese death metal crew Bound to Prevail have just dropped the title track from their upcoming debut full-length album, Enthroned in Torment. The single gives us a fresh glimpse into what the band have been cooking up, and if this track is anything to go by, we are in for a bit of a battering. The full album is scheduled to land on January 7th, 2026, via Lethal Scissor Records.

Musically, the band seem to be aiming for that sweet spot between the early 2000s death metal sound and modern production values. Think along the lines of the technical ferocity of Suffocation or Monstrosity, but with the precise, pummeling approach of bands like Hour of Penance. It’s dense, aggressive stuff, but there’s enough structure there to stop it from just becoming noise. They describe it as exploring the tension between malevolence and benevolence, which sounds suitably grim for a death metal record.

Although this is their debut full-length, Bound to Prevail have been at it since 2014 and have built up a solid CV in that time. They’ve supported the likes of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Vader, and Mayhem, and even made an appearance at Bloodstock festival alumni-heavy events like the World Metal Congress in London. They’ve also graced the stages of Obscene Extreme and MetalDays, so they know their way around a live set.

The album was recorded at SpineSplitter Studio and features a lineup that includes Keith Fenech, Kevin Mifsud, Alan Briffa, Mark Farrugia Sant’Angelo, and Jean Vella on guitars (though the latter is no longer in the current live lineup). With the release date just around the corner, this single is the perfect appetiser for what promises to be a heavy start to 2026.
