It is the end of an era for Finnish power metal heavyweights Battle Beast, who have dropped the bombshell announcement that long-time vocalist Noora Louhimo is parting ways with the group. Louhimo has been a defining force behind the band’s rise to international stardom, known for her incredible vocal range and commanding stage presence. While fans will undoubtedly be sad to see her go, the band has wasted no time in turning the page to the next chapter.

Stepping up to the microphone is Marina La Torraca. Metal fans may already be familiar with the Brazilian vocalist from her work fronting modern metal outfit Phantom Elite or as a member of the symphonic metal project Exit Eden. La Torraca brings an impressive resume to the table; hailing from São Paulo, she underwent formal training in musical theatre in New York and has starred in productions across German-speaking countries. Given Battle Beast’s penchant for high drama and theatrical flair, her background suggests she will be a perfect fit for the band’s bombastic style.

La Torraca is known for her versatility, capable of switching from melodic musical theatre stylings to fierce metal screams. Speaking about her appointment, she admits the task ahead is a big one:

“When I first saw an email with both Battle Beast and my name in the subject line, I honestly thought it had to be a mistake. But once I opened it, I couldn’t have been happier. I’m incredibly honored to be part of this new chapter and deeply grateful for the trust and support from the band. Is it a little terrifying to follow in the wake of a vocal legend like Noora? You bet! Is it also very exciting? Absolutely. Battle Beast is one of the hardest-working and most genuinely talented bands out there, and I’m proud to be here to help them keep growing and spreading joy. Buckle up—this is going to be fun.”

The band has expressed their excitement to “start this new chapter” and introduce Marina to the “Battle Beast” family. The new line-up is set to make its live debut in March 2026 with a run of shows across Japan and Australia. While there are no UK dates on the calendar just yet, we will be keeping a close eye out for when this new incarnation of the band makes its way to our shores.
