Norwegian-based soul-rock group Bonnie and the Jets have released their second full-length album, II. The album’s release is accompanied by its final single, “Diamonds & Gold”. This new record follows their self-titled debut album which arrived in 2022.
The new album, II, is described as a “bold new chapter” for the band and marks the second instalment of a planned interconnected trilogy, with the third part anticipated in 2026. The album explores themes of karma, identity, and reinvention. Vocalist Caroline “Bonnie” Bonnet describes the record as a “journey” about “shifting, letting go, rebuilding… we’ve gone deeper, taken more risks, and tried to be as honest as possible.”
Rooted in the band’s signature soul-rock sound, the album blends vintage warmth with a modern edge and features guest appearances from Marius Lien and Stian Carstensen.
The new single, “Diamonds & Gold”, is an intimate track about self-respect and self-worth. Bonnie explained the song’s core: “We wanted to create a song that feels both strong and personal, something that reminds you of your own worth, no matter what you’re going through.” The track was recorded in Oslo during the winter of 2024.
Bonnie and the Jets have built a reputation for their powerful and energetic live performances. The release of II was recently celebrated with shows at the Dark Season Blues festival in Svalbard.
II and “Diamonds & Gold” are both available to stream now. The album’s embedded below.
