The Molotovs deliver message of hope at sold-out London show ahead of new single and UK dates

Hotly-tipped London band The Molotovs played a triumphant, sold-out headline show at Camden’s famous Electric Ballroom last Friday, October 24th. The show comes as the sibling duo prepares to release their new single, “Rhythm Of Yourself”, on October 31st via Marshall Records (pre-order/save now). The band is aiming for their third consecutive UK No. 1 physical single with the release.

The 1,500-capacity venue was packed with pogoing, crowd-surfing, and moshing fans, who were warmed up by support acts The Sukis and Soaked. The Molotovs, consisting of siblings Mathew (17) and Issey (19) Cartlidge, performed an hour-long set that included new songs “Urbia” and “My Metallic Wife” alongside tracks from their forthcoming debut album (out Jan 31st – pre-order now). Among those in attendance was James McCartney, songwriter and son of The Beatles’ Paul McCartney.

Vocalist and bassist Issey, wearing a Solene Lescouet-designed Union Jack dress, delivered a powerful “message of hope” from the stage.

“I’m proud to wear this dress. Proud to sport this flag. Proud of our Britishness which is so integral to who we are,” she stated. “We must reject cultural pessimism – reject division, intolerance and hate – and embrace togetherness in its wake. We must keep on asking ourselves one vital question: ‘Is There Any Hope?’ We think the answer is definitively ‘yes’.”

The new single, “Rhythm Of Yourself”, is said to be influenced by “early ‘80s stark Jam, Favourite Worst Nightmare era Arctic Monkeys and Sex Pistols”. It was produced by Jason Perry at Marshall Studios and will be released on white vinyl, backed by the B-side “Johnny Don’t Be Scared”, which was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios.

This release follows their two previous singles, “More More More” and “Today’s Gonna Be Our Day”, both of which hit the top of the physical singles charts. The band’s debut album, Wasted On Youth, is set for release on January 30th, 2026.

Despite their youth, the band has played over 600 gigs since 2020, sharing stages with acts like The Libertines, Iggy Pop, and The Damned, and earning shout-outs from Green Day and Paul Weller.

Guitarist Matt said: “I want to thank everyone who came and made this an amazing night to remember. We can’t wait for you to hear the album – and a lot more in 2026. Next, we’re out on the road with Palaye Royale.”
