After more than four decades since their inception, legendary Polish thrash/death metal act Dragon are set to release their first-ever official full-length live album, Live In Pain. This monumental release captures the raw energy of their 2024 co-headlining tour with Wolf Spider, presenting fourteen meticulously chosen tracks that encapsulate their extensive and influential career. The album is a testament to the band’s enduring power and a significant milestone for fans who have followed their journey since the 1980s.
The album is being promoted with a live video for the blistering track “Nie Zginaj Kolan”, which is available now for streaming. This preview offers a glimpse into the ferocity and precision that listeners can expect from Live In Pain, highlighting the band’s formidable stage presence and musical prowess.
As a special treat for dedicated collectors, the CD edition of Live In Pain will feature two exclusive bonus tracks: “Dzień Pogrzebu” and “Niedaleki Koniec”. These songs previously only appeared on obscure live compilations from the 1980s, making their inclusion on this release particularly exciting as they have now been recorded in the studio for the very first time. This provides a rare opportunity for fans to hear these historical tracks with modern production quality.
The powerful sound of Live In Pain was expertly shaped by Piotr Kowalski, who was responsible for the recording, mixing, and mastering of the CD version. For the vinyl edition, Piotr Mańkowski provided a unique sonic dimension through his mastering work, ensuring that both formats offer distinct and compelling audio experiences. The striking and evocative artwork for the album was created by Szataniec, who is also serving as the album’s publisher.
Live In Pain is slated for release on 31st October and will be available as a double vinyl, offered in multiple colour variants, as well as a double CD. Pre-orders for the vinyl, CD, official merchandise, and a strictly limited die-hard box edition are now available directly from Szataniec. This release marks a significant moment in Dragon’s storied career, bringing their electrifying live performance directly to their global fanbase.
