Malevolente releases new maxi-single “Dream”

The Colombian death metal project, Malevolente, has just released a new maxi-single titled “Dream”. This new release serves as another taste of the project’s sound while a debut full-length album is in the works. The single was recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by the band’s sole member, Javier Andrés González, in his home studio, ensuring a singular, unfiltered vision.

Malevolente is the one-man metal project from Bogotá, created by Javier González. A veteran of the local scene since the early 2000s, González previously played in bands such as Egaheitor, Orgullo Nativo, and Volcán before embarking on his solo journey in 2020. Since its inception, the project has been blending dark, emotional concepts with powerful death metal riffs, exploring complex themes of sin and the darker side of human nature.

Previous singles, such as “(Gula) Insaciable” and “Envidia (Mater Silentium)”, have tackled subjects like gluttony and envy, suggesting a thematic exploration of the seven deadly sins. This new release, “Dream”, continues to build upon this foundation of introspective and visceral music. Fans of raw, self-produced death metal can look forward to how these themes will be further developed on the upcoming debut album. The new maxi-single is currently available for streaming and purchase via Bandcamp.
