The 2025 MTV VMAs will feature a special tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, with Yungblud, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt uniting for a medley of the Prince of Darkness’s greatest hits.
Hosted by LL Cool J, the show takes place at New York’s UBS Arena and airs in the UK on Monday 8 September:
- MTV VMAs Pre-Show – 8pm BST on MTV
- MTV VMAs Main Show – 9pm BST on MTV
- Comedy Central UK – 9pm BST
- Paramount+ – from Tuesday 9 September
- Pluto TV (MTV Biggest Pop) – from Wednesday 10 September
MTV UK will also share highlights across its social channels during and after the broadcast.
The tribute comes as Yungblud continues a strong year following the release of his fourth studio album, Idols. The record topped the UK charts and has earned widespread acclaim:
- The Telegraph: “A record that spans big, soaring melodies, angsty pop-rock ballads and even the gutsy theatrics of Queen.”
- The Independent on “Hello Heaven, Hello”: “A newfound maturity in songwriting and production.”
- Kerrang!: “It’s Yungblud like you’ve never heard him before.”
The campaign for Idols began in March with the nine-minute single “Hello Heaven, Hello,” premiered as Jack Saunders’ Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1. Other highlights have included a collaboration with Florence Pugh on the video for “Zombie,” and a surprise shift behind the bar at Camden’s Hawley Arms to serve fans.
Idols, the latest album from Yungblud, is out now via Locomotion/Island Records.
