The Sleights announce new EP ‘Atari’ and share single “Earthworms”

Colorado Springs punk rock mainstays The Sleights have announced a brand new 4-song EP, Atari, which is set to drop on October 24th, 2025. Raw, urgent, and packed with high-energy hooks, the EP marks the band’s latest evolution.

Alongside the announcement, the band has shared the first single, “Earthworms,” accompanied by a gritty new music video. The track deals with the heavy emotional theme of a relationship’s inevitable decline. Vocalist/guitarist Luke Blanton explains: “The song deals with the dread of knowing a relationship is going south, and understanding there is nothing left you can do but see it through until the bitter end.”

The video was directed by rising videographer Jarrett Barnes during a chaotic shoot that enhanced the song’s atmosphere. “We had an insane thunderstorm and even lost power for a bit. It totally set the mood for the shoot,” says Blanton.

Formed in 2014, The Sleights have become a cornerstone of Colorado’s punk scene, known for their explosive live shows and tight, punchy songwriting that blends classic punk aggression with straight-ahead rock & roll grit. The band has an extensive back catalogue of self-released music, including five EPs and two full-length albums. Their most recent full-length, This One’s Gonna Hurt, was released in April 2025.

With Atari, The Sleights double down on what they do best — loud, fast, and emotionally charged music. The EP will be released digitally on all major streaming platforms and as a limited-edition vinyl of only 250 copies. The vinyl will be available in two exclusive colour variants — “8 Bit White” and “Game Over Pink” — via the band’s Bandcamp page. The artwork was designed by Neil Schoffstall of The Bombpops.
