Slipknot release deluxe reissue of self-titled debut

Slipknot are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their landmark self-titled debut with the release of Slipknot (25th Anniversary Edition), available now via Roadrunner Records.

Originally released on 29 June 1999, Slipknot went triple platinum and quickly became a defining record for heavy music, breaking from tradition and establishing the Iowa nine as a cultural force. The anniversary edition captures the band’s creative process at the time, featuring unreleased takes, alternate versions, and mixes from sessions at SR Audio and Indigo Ranch, plus early ‘test mixes’ from alternate producers.

The deluxe reissue also includes live recordings from the band’s first world tour cycle – their 1999 Hartford, CT show and 2000 UK appearances – remixed and mastered from original soundboard tapes. These performances showcase Slipknot’s explosive transition from small venues to main stages, capturing the intensity of their early years.

Alongside the release, the band have unveiled the official video for “Scissors,” taken from Welcome to Our Neighborhood, Pt. 2. Watch it by scrolling down.

The anniversary edition has already seen a variety of physical formats – including a sold-out 6LP blood-splattered vinyl box set, limited-edition 2LP colour variants, and 2CD versions – alongside digital streaming availability.

Slipknot continue their anniversary celebrations with the sold-out Here Comes The Pain arena tour, which has included dates at Madison Square Garden, the O2 Arena in London, Paris’ Accor Arena, Mexico City’s Parque Bicentenario, and a homecoming Knotfest Iowa show. Oh, and Glasgow!
