Fronted by Belfast rock artist Amy Montgomery alongside drummer/producer Michael Mormecha, Preyrs fuse raw alternative rock energy with the weight of metal. Their sound is an electrifying clash of aggression and euphoria, chaos and control — drawing on influences as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, Chelsea Wolfe, Sonic Youth and Julie Christmas.

The new single confronts the spiritual toll of being constantly exposed to atrocity and disaster through the media, with its blistering drums and distorted guitars collapsing into moments of stark vulnerability. Montgomery delivers the haunting refrain: “Can you feel it? / like a river / it flows so silently / it flows so violently.”

Amy began performing on the streets of Belfast at 15 before joining forces with Mormecha, known for his work with Mojo Fury and as a producer for The Bonnevilles and Joshua Burnside. Together with guitarist Nolan Donelly and bassist Ciarán McGreevy, they’ve forged Preyrs into an intense live act.

This summer, the band made their UK festival debut at Bloodstock Open Air and also appeared at Ireland’s Stendhal Festival. Montgomery’s dynamic and ferocious stage presence has earned her acclaim as a “force of nature”, while Preyrs themselves are already being tipped as one of the most compelling new acts to emerge from Northern Ireland’s heavy scene.
