Copenhagen’s HalfCutLemon have announced the release of their second album, This Ain’t Real. The record will be available from September 26th, 2025, via Aenaos Records.
The nine-track album was recorded at the iconic Sweet Silence Studio with legendary producer Flemming Rasmussen, known for his work with Metallica. The band’s sound has expanded, ranging from ferocious chainsaw punk to sweeping baroque pop drama. Adding to the album’s depth are guest appearances from post-punk icon Peter Peter and vocalist Persille Ingerslev.
The album has been preceded by two singles. “Ointment” was described by Turn Up The Volume as “a hefty haymaker,” while “The Sun Is Dying” was hailed by Hella Fuzz as “a slow-burning elegy”. These tracks showcase the band’s ability to blend raw punk energy with cinematic textures.
Lyrically, This Ain’t Real tackles contemporary turbulence, the passage of time, and finds moments to celebrate science and human renewal.
