UK deathcore rising stars Writhe have dropped their second brutal single of 2025, titled “Devourer”, alongside a mesmerising lyric video. Discussing the brand new single, the band states:
“Devourer” is a story revolving around a cosmic entity that is summoned to consume worlds whole at the behest of its master. As a continuation of the story within the world created from our previous single “HOST”, the master beckons for the beast to cleanse the cosmic landscape of heretics who resist the indoctrination.
Monolithic in size, two thousands needles collide consuming existence without resistance. The city of bones is all that remains, as the denizens prepare to witness oblivion.
Laced with brutal blast beats, punishing breakdowns and oppressive ambience, Writhe’s tight, unyielding grasp on their atmospheric, dynamic and deeply technical deathcore sound could not be more apparent than on “Devourer”; a colossal and all-encompassing slice of modern heavy music.
The band’s brand new era has also seen the band venture further into the live space, with the group set to support underground deathcore legends Beyond Extinction and To Obey A Tyrant for three dates across the UK this coming August:
