A quick round-up of upcoming releases from all across the rock/metal spectrum.
On the one year anniversary of her critically-acclaimed, masterful debut full-length, M, Danish black metal artist Myrkur unveils a captivating live recording from the historic Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum in Oslo, Norway. Aptly titled Mausoleum, the album features beautifully dramatic & stripped-down acoustic reinventions of seven songs from M plus one brand new song and a Bathory cover; all with the accompaniment of the storied Norwegian Girls Choir.
Mausoleum is due out this August 19 on CD/LP/Digital via Relapse. Physical pre-orders are available at this location, and digital versions can be pre-ordered via Myrkur’s Bandcamp.
Barb Wire Dolls are pleased to announce the release of their new album Desperate on 22ndJuly, via Motörhead Music.
Fronted by the whip-smart vocal and fashion icon Isis Queen (named after the Greek Goddess herself), Barb Wire Dolls intelligently weave sub-genres of punk, grunge, and metal, producing an urgent sound that is truly unique. The group’s dynamic musicianship is blasted forth by former pro surfer & skateboarder Pyn Doll on lead guitar, Krash Doll on drums, Iriel Blaque on bass, and Remmington on rhythm guitar.

This is the explicit cover artwork for Mondoscuro, the announced EP co-starring Cadaveria and Necrodeath, both as distinct bands and as authors of new songs, composed and played together.
In detail, the EP will contain six tracks: two brand new and co-written songs, two covers (one of The Beatles and one of Type O Negative) and two unusual “exchange of roles”, that will see Cadaveria reinterpreting a classic by Necrodeath and Necrodeath performing a Cadaveria hit.
Among the other surprises of Mondoscuro is the participation of Lindsay Schoolcraft from Cradle of Filth, as special guest on vocals.
