It’s that time of year again where we talk to as many bands as we can who are raring to blow you away at Bloodstock! Imperial Demonic will be rocking the New Blood stage on the Saturday…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re from Belfast, Northern Ireland
How long have you been playing together as a band?
While it began as a solo project in 2022, the full band has been playing shows for almost four years now.
Where does the name of the band come from?
The name Imperial Demonic was initially a placeholder to describe the music; gothic, fantasy-driven black metal. But as time went on the name stuck and we felt it rolled off the tongue naturally!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We play a unique brand of intense melodic black metal with some technical and atmospheric elements, paying homage to the early 2000’s sound rather than the traditional second wave.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We deliver high energy, theatrical black metal show and treat each performance as a ritual with plenty of crowd interaction!
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Some of us have attended before but for some of us it will be our first time!
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We did not participate in M2TM this year but were offered the slot after an extensive series of shows across the UK and Europe.

Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
Excited and humbled, yet vindicated!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
These days the majority of our setlist is comprised of unreleased material from our upcoming album, with a few fan favourites we have retained from our debut EP, Beneath The Crimson Eclipse.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Cryptopsy, Leprous and Carpenter Brut are a few of our top picks. We’re also excited to see our friends Blood Countess play!
What are you working on at the moment?
We are in the process of finishing up production of our debut full length album. We’re confident it will be a worthy successor and step forward from our first EP which already had a stellar reception!
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
We always love to get the crowd involved with chants during our set. A highlight for us was having Nina from Blood Countess perform guest vocals with us in Glasgow last year!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
A pint before the set to loosen up always helps!
