Road to Call of the Wild: Beautiful Freakin Weirdo

Now that we’re in May, we’re closing in fast on Call of the Wild and we’re going to be back for another year! So we’re getting to know as many of the bands set to play the Trailblazer Stage in 2026 that we can pin down. Beautiful Freakin Weirdo play the Saturday.

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

I am from Birmingham,  West Midlands.

How long have you been playing together as a band?

Formed 2022.

Where does the name of the band come from?

Beautiful Freakin Weirdo, three different characters, basically enabling me to take my music anywhere I wish .

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

Imagine a mix of White Zombie, The Prodigy, NiN, yet retaining its own uniqueness and style.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?

A roller coaster of twists and turns with a real trippy vibe.

Have you been to Call of the Wild before? What did you think?

My 1st time at Call of the Wild.

Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Call of the Wild?

I was thrilled when I got asked, and CotW won’t regret that decision I can guarantee that.

What sort of setlist can we expect?

You will be taken in a magical mystery tour with lots of twists and turns .

Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?

Ransom.

What are you working on at the moment?

My brand new single, “Love Laced Poisoned Ivy”, is being released to coincide with CotW on 18/05/26. The single has already been played on Rock Radio UK numerous times pre release and the feedback has been awsome.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

There’s so many but, probably the funniest was when the police marched across the field and pulled the plug on the generator at a festival because we had gone over the curfew!

What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?

A nice JD and Coke .
