Now that we’re in May, we’re closing in fast on Call of the Wild and we’re going to be back for another year! So we’re getting to know as many of the bands set to play the Trailblazer Stage in 2026 that we can pin down. Bright Black play the Friday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are based in Northampton.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We’ve been playing as this lineup for about a year and half now.
Where does the name of the band come from?
Our drummer, Alex, came up with the name years ago, when we were forming the band, he suggested it and that was that.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We have an alt metal sound, we tend to say it’s along the lines of an Alter Bridge mixed with Halestorm sort of vibe. It’s the culmination of the four of us writing together with our individual influences, so that’s where our sound comes from.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
High energy and loud! We bring a fun energetic vibe to our shows and have fun on stage, while delivering a straight up heavy rock show.
Have you been to Call of the Wild before? What did you think?
No, this will be our first time, so very excited!
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Call of the Wild?
Honoured to be invited, excited to bring what we’ve got!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
A good mix of rock bangers and straight up metal anthems.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Definitely looking forward to seeing Glamour of the Kill and Beggars Bliss.
What are you working on at the moment?
We have a new single dropping 7th may and our debut EP in September, so we’re currently focused on release plans/scheduling for that.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
At our own show, we played Warwick University and had a circle pit around our bassist, that was good fun.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Got to be a Jack and Coke for me.
