Italian brutal cosmic death metallers Encelado came out of nowhere in April with their debut EP, Pillars of Creation. Rising from the ashes of Pulvis et Umbra, Damien handled all instrumentation before enlisting his old friend Simone to deliver vocals on four blistering tracks – and the results were immense.
I featured them on my radio show over at our sister station, www.moshville.radio, and the feedback in the chatroom was overwhelmingly positive, especially for the track “Dark Nebulas.” That reaction alone made me reach out to Damien for a chat.
Fans of Aborted, Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation will find plenty to enjoy here. In our conversation we covered all things Encelado, including why the project will remain studio-based and what’s next in the pipeline.
