Continuing our run of letting you know a little more about as many of the bands on at Bloodstock 2025 as we possibly can before you get a chance to see them, we have Symbyote. This bunch play on the New Blood Stage on the Saturday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
All over London.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
This line up 7 months, but realistically under 2 yrs.
Where does the name of the band come from?
Dan (vocals) came up with the name, massive fan (as we all are) of Marvel’s Venom. As we couldn’t use Venom we decided to use what he is a Symbiote but dropped the “i” for a “y”.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We’re a deathcore band with blends of black metal, death metal and hardcore. What makes us unique is we’re all from different backgrounds but have come together to unify the Symbyote fusion.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Raw and aggressive, what you see is what you get… Hopefully we hit the nail right in the nuts!

Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Dan (guitarist) has and loves it so much he goes every year.. for the rest of us we’re BOA virgins.
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
London.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
Shocked and a dream come true, tears, smiles.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
A heavy hard hitting emotional rollercoaster.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
The 500, Dead Flesh, Breed 77, Cage Fight, Heriot
What are you working on at the moment?
Starting to get an EP recorded and a single (“Blood & Sorrow” which we debuted at the London M2TM finals). And working on new material!
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
We’ve had a conga circle pit, human pyramid (only 3 so want see higher!), Macarena pit and Dan (singer) being carried off mid set.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Dan (singer) doesn’t drink so has a Monster.
Scarthee (bass) sometimes a shot but mainly water.
Dan & Borys (guitars) a couple of beers.
Harry (drums) doesn’t drink either so we only see him with water.
