Continuing our run of letting you know a little more about as many of the bands on at Bloodstock 2025 as we possibly can before you get a chance to see them, we have Bad Smell. This bunch play on the EMP Stage on the Saturday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Leeds, Yorkshire – the most magical place in the world!
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We started rehearsing and jamming together around 18 months back but only been gigging since August. Me (T-Bone) and Goose have been playing together since we were kids and have known Davyd for ages, so it’s been brewing a while!
Where does the name of the band come from?
For a multitude of reasons none of us have a keen sense of smell, so we put that name out there as a potential warning! We’ll try our best not to stink that tent out though!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We aren’t re-inventing the wheel or anything really, it’s just good old-fashioned, hard-hitting rock n’ roll! Catchy riffs and catchy chorus!
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We’re gonna break out some of our best dance moves yet for Bloodstock Festival! People will probably come watch us if they want to get some shade in the tent for a while, hopefully some people check out our tunes and come help us sing them!
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
We’re first-timers! We’ve talked about going for years and years, but have been either busy or skint! We’re absolutely buzzing to go this year, even just to go watch the other bands and get some top-tier festival food!

When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?
We sent our stuff into Simon more in hope than expectation, almost gave us a collective heart attack when he replied offering us a slot, we thought it must have been a wind-up or something, but it turns out, dreams do come true!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Loud and fast! Got a few songs out on the internet so if anyone checks them out and enjoys them, we’ll be playing them!
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
We’re hoping to check out Ireosis, they’re a band local to us, so will be cool to see them on a big stage! Other that on the Saturday we’ll be waiting for the stage times and making a game plan about who we’ll be seeing!
What are you working on at the moment?
We’ve just released a new single “Light Me Up” which is on all the best streaming services, and we’ve got a video out to support it too, made by Very Metal Art. We’ve also got a new single that we just recorded called “Sold a Lie” which we’ll playing at Bloodstock!
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Download Festival 2012 – anyone who survived that rain and mud wakes up with flashbacks! Spend an hour at 3am sitting with a mate warming our hands on a cheeseburger we bought – desperate times and all that!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Ice cold Pepsi Max and maybe a cheeky Red Bull!
