Ricky Interviews… Leprosy (Swe)

Kenny from BrainBath and myself played a Swedish death metal special on my radio show a few weeks ago and we wanted to play songs of Entombed before they were Entombed and Dismember before they were Dismember.  The HM-2 pedal, since I first heard it in the late 80’s, has been my favourite tone of guitar and playing a plethora of bands that most people would not have heard of was truly special. Volume two will be happening in the near future as our first show ended up being Number 1 in the death metal charts on Mixcloud as well as only playing a tip of the iceberg of quality Swedish bands that either didn’t make it, disbanded or changed their style. Keep an eye on the socials for that one.

One band that we did play was Leprosy, who by 1990 had released two solid demos of death/thrash to high acclaim and had then disbanded. They had commented on my socials that they reformed this year and are working on new material, so this was an ideal opportunity to speak to drummer and co-founder Nicke Olsson.

In the interview, you get to hear what happened to the original version of Leprosy, playing live and the writing process for the new album.
