Cruel Minded Hardcore just announced a show with the best Scottish lineup 2016 has seen so far. For anyone with even a passing interest in hardcore, a bill featuring Riot Conduct, Revolve, Eternal War, Deceit, and Revulsion needs no introduction. It looks set to be a real celebration of one of the most vibrant, creative, and energetic scenes in the country, if not hardcore worldwide!
Whether you’re completely new to hardcore, looking to catch up with some of the newer bands on the scene, or just want to support some killer heavy music from Scotland, you definitely don’t want to miss this gig! So, to whet our appetites, we’ve been catching up with each of the bands on the bill in quickfire Q&A sessions. Now it’s the turn of eclectic metalcore crew Deceit!
How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard you before?
Nineties-styled hardcore with a weird mix of everything that started off as Unbroken worship.
What can we expect from your live show?
A ton of energy from guys playing something a bit different that we really fucking dig.
Where are you from? How long have you been playing together?
We’re from Stirling and Edinburgh. Our first practice was in mid 2015. We played our first show in August with Judge and recorded our EP in October.
Which bands would you say influenced you?
They’re different for everyone in the band, but we’d say Strife, Unbroken, Strain, Champion, Abolition, xRepentencex, Most Precious Blood, Incendiary, and Rage Against The Machine.
Which band are you most looking forward to watching at this show?
Revolve! We first saw them at Dave’s birthday show at the start of the year – they fucking killed it!
Any big plans for 2016?
Playing shows when we can, releasing the LP we’re currently writing. A weekender hopefully in the summer and we’re planning a tour of Europe in October with another band that’s still to have the finer details confirmed.
Deceit will play with Riot Conduct, Revolve, Eternal War, and Revulsion at Glasgow’s Audio on Monday 14th March.
