The Moshville Times - Classic Cover: Bowling For Soup – “In Too Deep” (original by Sum 41)

Few bands soundtrack a generation quite like Bowling For Soup, and now they are taking a full-throttle trip back to the early 2000s with a reimagined take on Sum 41’s global smash hit “In Too Deep”. The cover is born out of a 25-year friendship between the two bands, stretching back to a tour together in 2000.

“We instantly hit it off talking about Metal and drinking copious amounts of, well, everything,” says frontman Jaret Reddick. “You could tell watching them that they were special. Those things were about to blow up for them, and by the end of the tour, even the crowds knew it. It is an honour to be able to add them to this collection of Pop Punk covers we are doing.”

The release follows last month’s reimagining of Simple Plan’s “I’m Just a Kid” and comes as the band prepares for a massive summer. Following a run in Australia, the guys will return to the UK this June for the “Bowl My Bones” tour alongside folk-punk royalty Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, with American Hi-Fi recently added to the bill. The tour includes prestigious stops at Cardiff Castle and the Eden Sessions, with tickets for the Glasgow and Lincoln dates already under a “low ticket alert”.

Once the UK dust settles, Bowling For Soup will head back to the States to reunite with Simple Plan and 3OH!3 for the “Bigger Than You Think Tour – The Sequel”, which includes slots at the Vans Warped Tour. It is a busy 32nd year for the Texas trio, proving there is no slowing down for the pop-punk veterans.
