In the latest instalment of our Classic Covers series, we turn our gaze to the industrial underground, where Tampa-based shock-rockers Sister Kill Cycle have released a ferocious reimagining of the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic, “Bad Moon Rising”.
Released on November 28, 2025, this single transforms the jaunty, ominous warning of the original into a full-scale sonic uprising. Where CCR’s 1969 hit hinted at trouble on the horizon with a toe-tapping rhythm, Sister Kill Cycle stares directly into the storm. The track is a “dark, industrial reckoning” that trades acoustic strums for grinding guitars and pounding electronics, creating a crushing anthem tailored for today’s uncertain times.
Fronted by vocalist Raven Chain, the band delivers the song’s apocalyptic message with a snarling urgency. The production is drenched in distortion and grit, blending the band’s signature goth atmospheres with a razor-sharp metal edge. It is a bold move that bridges generations, connecting the unrest of the late ’60s with the volatile energy of the present day.
This release follows a massive year for the group. In 2025, Sister Kill Cycle released their sixth studio album, We Were Ghosts, an emotionally charged record exploring themes of loss and rage. The band also solidified their global reach by joining forces with Von Artists Ltd. (a subsidiary of Sony/The Orchard) and Rose Window Records.
