A solo act-cum-band with a new single just out – which you should listen to. Scroll to the bottom for the video, but make sure to absorb all the words on the way down!
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Everyone involved is from various parts of the UK except our current drummer, who is from Pakistan.
How did you meet?
Various members that come and go to the project I’ve mostly met in and around Norwich over the past few years of living back in the UK. I met the current drummer when I was living in the middle east and have known him for a decade working on various musical endeavours.
How long have you been playing as a band?
It started out back in 2022 time, mainly to get my solo project off the ground, which has since grown into the band like project it is now.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
It comes from a small disused pub in Great Yarmouth of the same name. I would walk past it every summer I was back in the UK when going into town and never looked up and noticed how beautiful the sign looked atop such a rundown pub. Something beautiful in that.
What are your influences?
At the moment the main few would be, Sam Fender, REM, Wunderhorse and Spacey Jane.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I would say it’s a big chunk of 90s Indie rock with a little new wave to it. I think what makes it unique is the constant rotation of who plays live or plays on the studio on records, it always changes and varies so it constantly captures members individuality that shows on the songs.

Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
At the moment it varies a fair amount, I think that’s just natural when you write for a long time. I would say the two specific at the moment are fairly anti capitalist….we love the current state of everything and a lot of delving into writing about beauty in the mundane.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
The live show is energetic but the core want is to convey good music, embracing just the room you are in. Up to this date we’ve played around 15 shows. We are ready to get Infront of more audiences this year.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
I once witnessed a man consume an entire sack of red wine in about 2 minutes. I personally have nearly broken my neck stacking it trying to climb a stack of speakers.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
I have two guitars, keeping it tame. A Martin Acoustic and a Yamaha Revstar reissue for electric.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
Our new single ‘Soul Crushing’ came out May 23rd.
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
To release an EP and really start to garner a good bunch of live shows.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you?
I’d love to be supporting Gang Of Youths and have darls, a local Norwich act who I love support. Think it would be a very good combination.
