In case you didn’t know (get out from under that rock!) we’re hosting a third stage at Wildfire this year on the Saturday and Sunday. Just to make sure you know what mouthwatering musical delights are heading your way, we’ll be featuring a profile of each of “our” bands in the runup!
Wildfire is held at Wiston Lodge, about 30 mins south of Glasgow, from June 23rd to 25th and tickets can be purchased from the official website.

Empyre hail from the home of heavy metal and bring us their own flavour of alternative rock. They are formed of Henrik Steenholdt (vocals & guitar), Did Coles (lead guitar), Dan Grannum (bass) and Jack Bowles (drums).
Empyre perform intense, atmospheric rock, with a dark and introspective edge to their writing. In the words of BBC Introducing their music ranges from “Triumphant, chest beating rock” to more subtle but just as arresting numbers inviting you to do the deepest of soul searching.
Henrik delivers his lyrics with conviction and a vocal style not too dissimilar to Screaming Trees’ Mark Lanegan. Their sound would not be out of place in the 90s yet it feels perfectly current too. There is definitely room in my CD collection for some of this!
Henrik from Empyre says:
Our sound isn’t made to emulate any of our influences but what we write crosses the borders between genres of the rock bands we most admire, such as the grungy sound of Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots, the more blues driven rock of Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith and others like Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon. All of whom have a wide variety of songs from acoustic numbers and ballads to full-on classic rock. We want to play it all too.
Driven and extremely passionate about what they do, Empyre are a band who have carved out a vibrant online presence, a strong fan base, an intense sound, coupled with a live show that has fans transfixed with their ferocious musicianship and a captivating lead vocal.
