Each day in the run-up to the finals, we’re doing two tracks from the 2015 Eurovision Song Competition and tearing them to shreds analysing them carefully in a bid to predict the winner on May 23rd.
ALBANIA: Elhaida Dani – “I’m Alive”
MOSH – Elhaida can sing, of that there’s no doubt. But her voice is wasted on a pretty banal and “heard it all before” song that could have been trotted off by one of a thousand similar artists. 3/5
DAVE – Bloody hell – Albania have kidnapped the girls from The Corrs & Christina Aguilera and merged them into one. And based on the lyrics, IT’S ALIVE!!!!!! Oh, there’s Jim from The Corrs. Everyone forgets about him. 2/5
ARMENIA: Genealogy – “Face the Shadow”
MOSH – Armenia decided to invite people of Armenian descent from five continents to record a single song together. Nice idea, but they could have given them all the same music to read. 1/5
DAVE – Hold on…how many singers have they got in Armenia? There’s loads of them on here…ooh, it’s gone funky. I’ve just googled this lot – there’s 5 of them. It’s a mess. NUL PWA!!!
